Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine the thinly sliced sirloin steak with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, cornstarch, and a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and let the steak marinate for 15 minutes.
In a separate bowl, gently toss the peeled and deveined shrimp with the remaining tablespoon of soy sauce. Set aside.
Place a large wok or skillet over high heat and add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Heat until the oil is shimmering.
Carefully add the marinated steak in a single layer. Allow it to sear undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the wok and set aside.
In the same hot wok, add another tablespoon of sesame oil, then introduce the shrimp. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the wok and set aside.
If needed, add a little more sesame oil to the wok. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the sliced bell peppers and broccoli florets, stir-frying for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are vibrant and just tender.
Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the wok with the sautéed vegetables. Pour in the oyster sauce, the remaining soy sauce, and a splash of water. Toss all the ingredients together for 1-2 minutes.
Taste the stir-fry and adjust the seasoning with more soy sauce, salt, or pepper as needed. Spoon the stir-fry over a bed of cooked jasmine rice or noodles.
Finish the dish by sprinkling the chopped green onions on top before serving.
